It is my honor to introduce a recently-launched intellectual property degree program which has been jointly developed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Seoul National University (SNU) in collaboration with the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). The Program is composed of one year (two regular semesters and one summer program) of teaching sessions at SNU plus one year (two additional regular semesters) of thesis-writing sessions at home.

This program will provide great opportunities for IP professionals, policy makers, government officials or other members from your country to learn from leading IP experts from SNU, the WIPO, the KIPO and other world-renowned institutions to extend their knowledge and skills in the IP area and to develop global network that will help play a leading role in the area.

As you will probably know, the WIPO is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and the largest and most important international IP administration organization, currently having 185 member countries and administering 25 international treaties, including Patent Cooperation Treaty and Madrid Protocol. In addition, SNU is Korea’s first national university and the indisputable leader of higher education in Korea. 

The WIPO offers scholarships covering tuition and the SNU Center for Law & Technology will offer scholarships covering part of other expenses.

It is highly recommended that applicants take English language test early in advance so that the scores can be submitted to SNU during the course of application procedure.
